Rural Voice workshop.

Landowners, farmers, businesses and community groups are being urged to make their views known about the future shape of the East Lothian countryside.

Supported by Nick Wright and Richard Heggie of Urban Animation, they explored what a thriving countryside might look like in 10 to 15 years time and how planning rules could help that vision become real.

There was a widespread view that the countryside and villages could absorb more development, helping to create jobs, bring in younger people and help sustain village populations and facilities.
