Business drop-in attracts good crowd in East Lothian
Business event in Haddington.
More than 60 local businesses attended a drop-in event to meet and question East Lothian Council staff from all departments.
The ‘Open for Business’ event was held in the Town House in Haddington on Monday.
Councillor John McMillan, cabinet spokesperson for economic development, was delighted by the turn-out.
He said: “It was great to see so many of our local business people coming along to the event. The message we wanted to send out is that East Lothian Council is here to support our local businesses, no matter what stage they’re at. We’ve had some very positive feedback from the event and staff were answering all sorts of queries about everything from planning and licensing to how to promote themselves to tourists.
“Supporting local business is key to growing our economy and the success of an event like this shows that businesses are keen to take advantage of the support we can offer.”
Anyone with a business-support question can contact the council at economicdevelopmnt@eastlothian.gov.uk or 01620 827 282.
