Brave start for North Berwick cinema

The Pixar Scottish hit ‘Brave’ will be the first film to be show on North Berwick Movies new giant screen.

The equipment was bought with a £500 grant from a legacy left in trust for community projects by the late Stella Moffat.

At 4.5 metres wide, it is believed the screen is the widest in use by any cinema club in East Lothian.

Chairman Robin MacEwen said: “We are really pleased with the new motorised screen and grateful to the trust for this help as it lifts a considerable physical burden from our volunteers who previously had to erect and take down a smaller but cumbersome portable screen.

“But it will also provide our audiences with a much better cinema experience. We hope soon to be able to introduce high definition projection to complement the new screen.”

Brave will be shown on Saturday, December 15. Details of the film and the screening, which is open to all, with tickets on the door, can be found on the NB Movies website www.nbmovies.org.uk or on Facebook/North Berwick Movies
