A woman was then searched in Stoneybank Crescent in Musselburgh on Tuesday, March 26, and dealer quantities of heroin worth over £600 and a three-figure sum of cash were seized from her.

The 37-year-old was scheduled to appear at Haddington Sheriff Court on Thursday, February 28, in connection with alleged drug offences.

A subsequent search of an address in Coalgate Avenue, Tranent on Wednesday, February 27, resulted in 250g of heroin with a potential value of around £25,000 being found inside along with around £1500 worth of amphetamine.

Two men aged 22 and 47 and a 43-year-old woman were scheduled to appear at Haddington Sheriff Court on Thursday, February 28.

During the execution of a drugs warrant at a property in Caesar Road, Tranent on Tuesday 26th February around 100 counterfeit DVDs with an estimated value of £840 were recovered and police are working with the Federation Against Copyright Theft to undertake further enquiry.

Chief Inspector Colin Brown, Local Commander for East Lothian said: “Whether it’s Class B drugs, such as cannabis, or Class A drugs like heroin and amphetamine, the devastating affect they have on our communities will not be tolerated and Operation Ergot continues to remove these harmful substances from the streets.

“To date, tens of thousands of pounds worth of drugs have been seized and many individuals are awaiting trial for various drug offences.

“Our enforcement activity will continue and we would urge anyone who wishes to report drug crime in their area to contact police on 101 or alternatively the charity Crimestoppers in complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.”
