New owner of Golf Inn Hotel, Rob Reeley, High Street, Gullane who is annoyed with phone company which has not transferred the lines & cutting him off.

The new owner of the Golf Inn Hotel at Gullane has hit out at a phone company for leaving his business “high and dry” in the run-up to the festive season.

Rob Reeley (47) claimed OneBill stopped all outgoing and incoming calls, so the premises could not take bookings, answer enquiries, including for next year’s British Open Golf Championship at Muirfield, or accept credit card payments.

He and his 44-year-old wife Jules took over the Main Street premises on November 12 and sent letters out in advance to all of the existing suppliers notifying them of the change of ownership.

He claimed phone supplier OneBill refused to talk to them about a new contract in advance of that date as they were not the owners of the business.

He explained: “We contracted with BT to transfer the lines, however, OneBill telecom refused the transfer on four occasions despite our letters, e-mails and phone calls to them - even after we took possession of the business.”

A spokesman for OneBill said: “Before the change of ownership was completed, the purchaser of the business contacted BT several times to ask for the business’s telephone line to be transferred from Onebill to BT.”
