New health centre gets go-ahead

Plans for a new medical centre and pharmacy in Ormiston have been approved by East Lothian Council.

The proposal, put forward by GTFA limited, would provide replacement facilities for the doctors surgery in the village, which is outgrowing its current building in Sprinty Drive.

A small parcel of land needed for the development has already been secured in Tynemount Road, within the site of the new Walker housing development, which will provide 50 new homes.

Ormiston Community Council, which was consulted on both developments, has welcomed the plans.
