An East Lothian estate is one of five Scottish estates to gain recognition for its work in wildlife management and conservation.

The award of Wildlife Estates Scotland (WES) accreditation to The Hopes Estate, near Gifford, was made during the recent GWCT Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace.

Robbie Douglas Miller, who chairs WES and owns The Hopes Estate, collected the award from David Johnstone, chairman of Scottish Land and Estates.

WES is endorsed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General Environment, which aims to protect, preserve and improve the environment for present and future generations.
