Nursery sessions in East Lothian are being extended as the Scottish Government moves to widen access to early learning and childcare.

Under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, the number of hours of early learning and childcare for three and four-year-olds in Scotland will increase from 475 hours to 600 hours from August 2014.

East Lothian Council has chosen to implement the annual increase of 125 hours by making morning and afternoon nursery sessions longer.
