Volunteers are being recruited to remove marine litter from the beach at North Berwick on Saturday, April 19, from 11am-1pm.
The Scottish Seabird Centre, East Lothian Council’s Ranger Service and North Berwick in Bloom are holding the event as part of the Marine Conservation Society’s Beachwatch Big Weekend, the biggest beach clean and survey event in the UK.
Marine litter damages the environment and can be fatal to seabirds and other marine wildlife.
The litter collected on the day will be documented and weighed and will contribute towards the MCS’s ongoing campaign to turn the tide on litter.
Litter pickers, bags and gloves will be provided.
Clothing and study footwear is recommended.
