A local councillor has slammed a decision to cut council funding to a Tranent-based community bus service.

Councillor Kenny McLeod (SNP) is furious that East Lothian Council’s administration has decided not to continue supporting Lammermuir Community Transport, which received £19,356 in 2013/14.

He said: “This decision has been made during the summer recess, slashing more than £19,000 from a group that does so much good work in Tranent and the wider community.

“I am deeply concerned about Lammermuir being able to survive.”
