Protesters are bracing themselves to fight a revised plan for an energy from waste facility at Oxwellmains near Dunbar.
Viridor is currently finalising its proposal for submission to East Lothian Council next week.

A company spokesman said: "We believe our revisions will align the proposed facility with Scottish Government targets and aspirations for recycling and
diverting residual waste from landfill.

"We will provide a full briefing for community groups and representatives as well as ensuring all neighbouring residents are kept informed of the revised plans.

"Further information about the proposals will be available on our website www. viridor-consultation.co.uk/dunbar from next week."

Philip Banks, chairman of IRATE (Innerwick Residents Against Toxic Emissions), said the protest campaign would continue "unabated."

Completely

He said: "In early March, Viridor indicated they were reconsidering their super-incinerator proposal and would re-submit plans at the end of that month. Nothing happened.

"They then announced they were withdrawing their plans completely. They now say they will submit new plans at the end of May.

"Let's wait and see what they actually come up with, but rest assured the community is now briefed and completely against any incinerator proposals whatsoever."
