A young drama enthusiast from Dunbar is to be awarded the Bowe Cup by the community council this year.
Michael Warne (17), is in his final year at Dunbar Grammar School and hopes to go on to tread the boards after he leaves, possibly at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where he would like to study.
The award is presented annually to a local young person for personal achievement.
Michael, who has been attending weekly drama classes since he was five, works on sound and lighting backstage with Dunbar Lyric Group and will also be helping out with publicity for this year's production of the musical favourite Calamity Jane.

He is a regular attender at the Scottish Youth Theatre's summer courses He was involved in The Winter's Tale, showcasing the Shakespeare Schools Festival, which was presented at Dunbar Grammar, and played the part of Buttons in its Christmas pantomime Cinderella.
A school spokesman said Michael was "a friendly, responsible and thoroughly likeable young man."
Michael said receiving the Bowe Cup came as "a surprise," adding : "It is quite nice to see I am thought of that well in the school."
