Television - Children in Need

What’s It All About? Arguably the biggest and most difficult live TV event of the year is this charity telethon, thanks in no small part to the fact it’s on for around seven gruelling hours.

However, one man who seems to thrive on such occasions is veteran presenter Terry Wogan, who this time around will be joined by co-hosts Tess Daly and Fearne Cotton, and later in the evening, Radio 1’s latest superstar, Nick Grimshaw.

Look Out For: The quartet will be introducing performances from the likes of One Direction, Susan Boyle and Girls Aloud, while Britain’s Got Talent winner Pudsey the dog joins Pudsey Bear for an unforgettable moment.

Appearing in a Strictly Come Dancing special are Ann Widdecombe and Russell Grant, and there’s a chance to see a prequel to the Doctor Who Christmas special, starring Matt Smith.

Terry Wogan says: “We are heading for what we hope will be another record-breaking total for the people’s charity. Every year of Children in Need is a shining tribute to the extraordinary generosity of the British people.”

BBC One - Friday November 16 from 7.30pm
