Talented musical duo

The first round of the Rotary Young Musician of the Year contest saw 13 talented youngsters competing at Preston Lodge High School last Friday.

Organised and sponsored by Longniddry and District Rotary Club, the competition was judged by Martin Wilson, an SQA examiner. The winner of the young singer category was Jenna Stevens, performing Send In the Clowns, while the young musician category was won by acoustic guitarist Amber Curran, who played Hotel California. Runner-up in the young musician section was Rebecca Muir on flute, with third place going to Michael Hill on saxophone.

Amber and Jenna go forward to the next round, at the Riccarton Campus of Heriot-Watt University in February.
