Musselburgh Festival to remember

HTA President Andrew Gordon will have one enduring memory when he looks back on his successful first year in charge of Musselburgh's summer festival.

As the week's festivities reached their climax, thousands of spectators lined the seafront at Fisherrow to see the spectacular beach gallop at the end of Saturday's Ride-out.

"The gallop along the beach is what makes our festival unique and to see so many people enjoying it was totally amazing," Andrew told the News.

"There were so many highlights, but that is what I will take away with me."

Soaring temperatures throughout the week, saw large crowds at all the major events, with recent records being broken for both the Sashing Ceremony and fancy dress parade.
