Castle to host spectacular show

Historic Tantallon Castle on the coast near North Berwick will come to life with a spectacular sound and light show in September in a bid to draw visitors to the county.

The Lammermuir Festival organisers have received £54,000 to stage the music event as part of the Year of Creative Scotland.

Director James Waters said: “We are so excited that Creative Scotland has given us the chance to create a truly spectacular live event at one of Scotland’s most important heritage sites.”

The funding has come from a pot of more than £300,000 from the One Step Further investment programme which aims to enhance festivals and events in 2012, with a focus on cultural tourism.

The Lamp of Lothian Trust in Haddington has devised the sound and light event ‘Beautiful Music, Beautiful Places.’
