Travel views are wanted from East Lothian residents
The views of the public on key transport issues are wanted by East Lothian Council by Wednesday, July 20.
The Local Transport Strategy, published in 2001, is being updated to reflect changes and revised council policies.
Councillor Barry Turner, transport spokesman, said: “Transport is fundamental to today’s society whether it is for work or leisure or the delivery of the goods and services.
“The council’s Contract with the People calls for a sensible transport strategy to meet these requirements but we also recognise that transport planning is not simply about choosing and developing different travel options but considering ways of reducing the overall need for travel.”
A consultation paper has been produced to find out the opinions of organisations and individuals on the priorities, scope and content of an updated LTS.
This can be seen online at www.eastlothian.gov.uk/lts together with the current LTS.
The questionnaire can be completed online but for a paper copy or to put other questions, e-mail LTS@eastlothian.gov.uk.
