Book requests lead to library loyalty initiative
Librarian Janette Jack and Cllr Ruth Currie at the launch of the library Loyalty scheme.
A NEW scheme has been launched to reward loyal readers who request books, DVDs, CDs and other items from their local library.
The Library Request Loyalty Scheme was launched in Musselburgh but runs in all 12 of East Lothian’s libraries. Customers who have paid for five separate requests will receive their sixth one free.
Senior library assistant Janette Jack suggested the scheme.
She explained: “Many of our borrowers are avid readers who will keep an eye on news and reviews so they can request new books by their favourite authors or any which interest them. I thought that it would be nice for us to recognise their enthusiasm in some way and so the idea for the Request Loyalty Scheme was born.”
